Perplexity is offering a free year of their Pro plan if you sign up and verify your student status. After verification, you'll get a confirmation email along with the educational discount applied to your account. As part of the Pro plan, users also get access to Comet, Perplexity’s personal AI assistant browser. It’s designed to help with navigating software, managing digital tasks, and speeding up research and information discovery. After the free year ends, your account reverts to the free tier automatically (no auto-renew). Students can also choose to upgrade to Perplexity Pro for $4.99/month (a 75% discount), or refer others to earn up to 24 months of Pro access at no cost.
