FREE ENTRY DAYS TO U.S. NATIONAL PARKS IN 2026
🏞️ FREE ENTRY DAYS TO U.S. NATIONAL PARKS IN 2026, INCLUDING THE JULY 4TH WEEKEND The National Park Service (NPS) has announced that in 2026 there will be 10 free entry days for U.S. residents at national parks that usually charge an entrance fee. This is four more days than in 2025, providing a great opportunity to explore the country’s nature and historic sites. About 100 of the more than 430 sites managed by the NPS charge an entrance fee. On free entry days, this fee will be waived. FREE ENTRY DATES IN 2026: Entrance fees will be waived on the following dates: • February 16: Presidents’ Day (Washington’s Birthday) • May 25: Memorial Day • June 14: Flag Day / President Trump’s Birthday • July 3–5: Independence Day weekend • August 25: 110th Anniversary of the National Park Service • September 17: Constitution Day • October 27: Theodore Roosevelt’s Birthday • November 11: Veterans Day NEW FEES FOR FOREIGN VISITORS Starting January 1, 2026, new fees will be introduced for non-U.S. residents. The NPS warned that these fees will apply to foreign visitors even on free entry days. Under the new policy, non-residents visiting the 11 most popular national parks will have to pay an additional $100 fee unless they purchase a non-resident annual pass for $250. This change was introduced after national parks received a record 331.9 million visitors last year.
